iHeartMedia and Youngstown State University Athletics have extended their agreement keeping YSU football and men’s and women’s basketball on “NewsRadio 570” WKBN and “The Sports Animal” WNIO (1390) Youngstown, OH through the 2020-21 season.
“YSU is a cornerstone of our community and we are very proud to continue our partnership with them,” iHeartMedia market president Robert Hotchkiss said. “We’ve expanded our coverage of YSU Athletics over the years and recently decided to feature additional coaches and student-athletes on the weekly programs.”
iHeartMedia Youngstown has broadcast YSU football and basketball games since 2002 with football and men’s basketball games airing on WKBN and women’s basketball games carried on both stations. Additional YSU Athletics programming includes the football and basketball coaches show, “Penguin Playbook,” which airs Monday nights on WNIO and the “Fifth Quarter Call-In Show,
